A standing update on the build.

What's working, what isn't, what comes next.

The public beta is open. Read the beta page first, then create your account.

Now

What's true today.

The chat works. You can write to it about anything.
The journal works. Three ways: write from scratch, have the AI help as you go, or hand it a past chat and let it draft an entry you can edit before saving.
The 24-word recovery key works end-to-end. Forget your passphrase, enter the 24 words, get back in. Lose both and the data is gone.
The public beta is open. Read about it at vitni.app/public-beta, then sign up.
Notes is live at vitni.app/notes. Five posts so far.
The full encryption architecture is public at vitni.app/privacy/deep-overview. Every box, every arrow, including the parts that protect you and the parts that can't.

The encryption pass. The architecture is in place and the recovery flow round-trips, but there are edge cases I want to close before I ask anyone to trust it with their thoughts. This is the most important thing on my desk.
A final privacy and code review with a security professional I trust.
Footer links to where Vitni lives outside the app. They're external. Vitni's privacy doesn't follow you there.

Then

50 to 100 people. Hand-picked by me, from the sign-up list and people I trust.

No marketing. No PR. No public numbers.

That step is behind us. The public beta is now open to everyone.

After

A few months long. Quiet growth. No ads, no sales calls, no deals.

It's public, and it's open for everyone to test. Sign up for the public beta at vitni.app/public-beta.

If the beta holds up, the full release follows.

Later

The encryption code becomes publicly inspectable. Anyone can verify the claims on this page.

When

I'm one person. I don't want to lie about dates.

The public beta is open now. It stays open while the product finds its shape. The full release follows when it holds up.

I'd rather miss a date than miss the bar.
