A chat. A journal. A lock. Here's how each one works.
If you've used ChatGPT, you already know half of it. The chat doesn't try to be your friend. The journal writes the entries you don't know how to start. The whole thing is locked on your phone before it leaves, so even I can't read what you wrote.
Vitni is a chat, a journal, and a lock on both. You type what's on your mind and the AI asks the next question. It has no name, no persona, no character. It doesn't pretend to be your friend. When a conversation is worth keeping, you save it as a journal entry and the AI drafts it from the chat, or you skip the chat and write one from scratch. Entries are yours to read, edit, delete, and export to Markdown. Everything you write is encrypted on your device before it leaves, so the server holds locked boxes nobody at Vitni can open. The message you send the AI is the one exception: it goes to Anthropic so the model can read it and answer. No name or email is attached, it is not trained on, and it is deleted under a standard retention window of up to 30 days. Vitni is in public beta and free while it finds its shape.
What Vitni actually does: three things, three jobs.
Vitni is a chat, a journal, and a lock on the whole thing. Each part does one job. Here's the short version.
The chat.
Type whatever's on your mind. The AI asks questions and repeats your thoughts back in different words. The point is to help you figure out what you're actually thinking. It doesn't pretend to be your friend.
The journal.
Save what's worth keeping as an entry. Or write fresh ones from scratch. Read, edit, or delete them whenever. Export everything to your computer in one click.
The lock.
Everything is scrambled on your phone before it leaves. The server holds locked boxes only you can open. Even I can't read what you wrote.
The longer version, if you want it.
If you want to know why I built it the way I did, what journaling actually looks like when you sit down to do it, or how the locked box works under the hood, there's a longer page for that.
Not yet. Not ever.
The encryption code isn't public yet. Until it is, everything on this page about how your writing is locked is something you take on trust. For a product whose whole argument is privacy, that's the wrong way round. It's the next thing to fix.
Vitni isn't therapy. Isn't a crisis tool. Isn't a friend. If you're in crisis right now, please reach out to someone trained for it.
That's the whole thing. Want to try it?
Vitni is in public beta. Read about what that means, then an email gets you in.
